St Michaels Hospital, Essex
Empty Victorian mental institution located in Braintree. Formerly the 'Braintree Union Work House', the building was later converted to a mental institution. It is the only ‘Y’ plan workhouse to survive in Essex and would work well as a period hospital.
Watford General Hospital, Hertfordshire
Restricted to weekend and evening filming only. Interior filming is permitted but restricted to disused areas & treatment rooms of the hospital.

Norwich & Norfolk University Hospital, Norfolk
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is situated four miles from the centre of Norwich. This modern building opened in 2001 and is film friendly.
Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Hertfordshire
Hemel Hospital currently has a large empty ward, which is in good condition and is available for filming for foreseeable future. The area includes a long corridor, a nurse’s station, four 6-bed wards, four individual rooms, a large day room, kitchen and toilet facilities. The operational areas of the hospital can also be used although availability is limited.
BUPA Hospitals in the East of England
BUPA hospitals are extremely film friendly & their hospitals are available for filming free of charge as a placed location for film & TV productions. Therefore no BUPA signage can be covered up or removed. Replacing existing dressing and furniture is permitted according to the approval of the hospital management. If a production wish to use a hospital without the BUPA branding this will be considered at BUPA's discretion.
Elstree Business Centre, Hertfordshire
This partly operational office building offers fantastic opportunities to double as a hospital. It features not only great corridors and a glass-partitioned area but a medical centre fully equipped with 1950s medical instruments.
Hertfordshire Intensive Care & Emergency Simulation Centre
This university owned simulation centre is used as a training hospital with a fully working intensive care unit, conference rooms and office space and at only 2 years old, is in good decorative condition.
Located outside of the M25, approximately 5 miles from junction 23 and 1/2 mile from junction 3 of the A1(M). This location is approximately 19.9 miles (47 mins) from central London.
