Cinemas

We work to ensure that people across the East of England – especially in rural areas, and among the young and the socially excluded – can watch a wider range of film and moving image on cinema screens in their local area.

Digital Screen Network
Screen East partnered the UK Film Council to establish a Digital Screen Network across the region. Click here for participating venues.

Rural Cinema
We will invest in projects that aim to increase audiences in rural and urban areas of the region that are under served by cinemas.

Village Screen
Village Screen is a rural touring cinema scheme providing quality film screenings in community venues throughout Norfolk.

Volunteer promoting groups get together to screen the latest blockbuster or a timeless classic in the comfort of their local village hall or community centre.

Launched in 2005, Village Screen has become a vibrant and growing network of voluntary groups organising screenings for and with rural communities across Norfolk. The events offer an opportunity for neighbours to meet and socialise and to renew bonds of community and cooperation. Less travel and lower cost makes this the obvious choice for many rural residents.

With an average of 10 screenings a month and venues ranging across the whole of Norfolk you won't be far away from your nearest Village Screen. See their What's On page for all the upcoming screenings at your local Village Screen venue and throughout the county.
