Screen East is delighted to announce the launch of a new £3.5 million Low Carbon Fund.

Information about the production, development and business support fund and application documentation is now available online

The announcement follows a successful launch event that took place in Norwich on Thursday 28 January.

The innovative scheme is anticipated to be the biggest low carbon initiative to come out of the East of England this year for film, documentary, TV and computer games.

Our priority is to encourage the making of distinctive films that have the potential to reach an international audience by investing in script, project development and production funding

Go to our Funding page for details of what we are looking for and how to apply.

We also aim to seek out the most creative and innovative new writing and directing talent in the East of England. Through our new talent schemes we give filmmakers the opportunity and resources to develop their ideas and enable their creativity to flourish in a commercial environment with professional guidance.

Screen East supports a range of TV projects, from development to production

In 2008 Screen East supported the development of TV Eden, the business network for the TV industry based in the East of England.

Screen East continues to support the TV industry through the new Low Carbon Fund

Supported by Screen East, Games Eden is the business network portal for the East of England's computer games industry.

As the industry extends its economic, social and cultural impact, Games Eden stimulates electronic creativity and business development.

The network promotes the region's reputation through championing achievements, sharing knowledge and developing skills.

Details of the Games Eden programme of events and activities can be found at Games Eden. Details of membership fees and how to join online can be found at Games Eden Membership

With each new technological advance the boundaries between film, TV, games and other digital production become increasingly blurred.

'Digital' covers the areas of corporate production, web and mobile interactive content, photo imaging, visual and sound effects. It is difficult to imagine how modern feature film, TV and computer games production could exist without significant content provision from the Digital sector notwithstanding the transferability of the skill-sets.
